Members of the Public Service donated more than 3,000 items toward the Family Support Network’s (FSN) food pantry as part of activities to celebrate Public Service Week.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development received a donation of 3000 children and adult face masks from the Lion’s Club of Tortola.

Students of the Bregado Flax Educational Centre (BFEC) received a donation of six laptops on May 26 from Mr. Roy Garraway, Chief Executive Officer for Quality Construction Limited.

Local civic organisations joined the Government of the Virgin Islands to assist vulnerable groups with getting food and other essentials prior to the COVID-19 24-hour lockdown.

Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley has commended the Belmont Association for its commitment to assist with the needs of the Leonora Delville Primary School (LDPS).

Minister for Health and Social Development Honourable Carvin Malone made a donation to the Disability Services Division within the Social Development Department. 

Children and young adults gathered for an afternoon of face painting, dancing, storytelling, music by the Chamber Players, and a visit by Santa Claus and gifts at a Christmas party hosted by His Excellency Governor Mr. Augustus J.U. Jaspert and Mrs. Jaspert.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is calling all Non-Profit Organisations and Non-Governmental Organisations who will be participating in providing relief to the Bahamas post Hurricane Dorian to notify the ministry by Friday, September 13.

In celebration of Earth Day (observed on April 22^nd), the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board (BVITB) dedicated the month to celebrating the preservation of the Earth and creating community awareness on the Seeds of Love initiative.
