On Wednesday, December 11 the Virgin Islands Deposit Insurance Corporation (VIDIC) commemorated the opening of their Headquarters on Main Street with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Virgin Islands Deposit Insurance Corporation (VIDIC) is a statutory body enacted by the Government of the Virgin Islands to provide protection for depositors against loss of eligible deposits at member institutions (banks) in the event of the failure of a bank and to contribute to the financial stability of the British Virgin Islands.

Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Andrew Fahie declared that ‘better has come to Virgin Gorda’ at a press conference to officially open a branch of Banco Popular on the sister island on Wednesday, November 6.

Residents of Virgin Gorda witnessed the anticipated opening of the Banco Popular branch on the sister Island earlier today. Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew Fahie, along with other members of the House of Assembly and bank representatives were also present at the event. The bank will initially open three days a week and will offer an array of services to the people of Virgin Gorda.
