Immediately following the passage of Hurricane Irma, on September 11 I held a meeting with the Territory’s insurance providers and one with the Territory’s banks.

I join with all educators and by extension the people of The Virgin Islands as we celebrate the life of two stalwart educators, Mr. Gordon Junior Dennis Callender and Mrs. Lucia Walters, both of whom were instrumental in shaping the lives of many young persons in this Territory and also building of the Education System.

Madam Speaker, permit me to address the subject of BVI Airways. This subject has been one of the most difficult chapters in my years of public service: the failed effort to create a commercial airline to serve the BVI.
