On December 2, 2014, Accountant General, Dr Sandra M Besson, tendered her resignation to the department of Human Resources, giving the public service the requisite three months' notice and citing her decision as one that is personal.
The Government of the Virgin Islands is grateful to Dr Besson for her dedicated service to effective public service delivery and the management of the Territory's fiscal resources.

On behalf of the people and Government of the Virgin Islands, I extend congratulations to United States Virgin Islands Governor-Elect Kenneth E. Mapp and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Osbert Potter on their recent victories in the General Elections.
On August 12 of this year, the Government of the Virgin Islands engaged the services of global management consultants - McKinsey & Company – to undertake a Financial Services Management Consultancy. This engagement is to help chart a new direction in the BVI financial services industry, and was as a result of financial services stakeholder meetings held early on in my administration.
1. Madam Speaker, I move that the Bill entitled, Appropriation Act, 2014, be read a second time and in so doing, I invite this Honorable House to extend its customary courtesies, in permitting me to deliver the Budget Address.
Today is a red-letter day in this Territory. Since taking on the leadership of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour I have been moving forward in a very calculated, yet cautious, manner to ensure that the residents of this Territory are well served.

Today, it is with deep sorrow that I make a short statement on the untimely passing of Dr. Myles Munroe, a man whom I had the privilege of meeting while I attended conferences, in the region and internationally.

Madam Speaker, a few sessions ago I came before this house and give a statement on the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and the effects that it would have on the Government and the people of the Virgin Islands. In this statement I described briefly the rationale behind FATCA and how it would be expected to affect the industry and private citizens here in the Virgin Islands.
