His  Excellency  the  Governor  Augustus  J.  U.  Jaspert  chaired  the  Special  Cabinet Meeting on 7th  May, 2019 and the Cabinet Meeting on 8th  May, 2019.

The Governor welcomes the response from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) to the Foreign Affairs Committee (FAC) report on Global Britain and the British Overseas Territories: Resetting the relationship.

It is self-evident that a modern communication network is crucial for the development of every economy, including here in the British Virgin Islands.

Like the song writer says “Thank God for a Mother like mine” I too would like to say thank God for all the mothers who surround me.

His Excellency the Governor Augustus J. U. Jaspert chaired the first half of the Cabinet Meeting on 30th April, 2019 and the Premier and Minister of Finance chaired the meeting to conclusion. The Meeting was held at the Premier’s Conference Room, Central Administration Building

Today I recognise the start of Red Cross Week, an annual celebration of the BVI Red Cross and the work that they do in communities throughout the Territory.  

Ladies and gentlemen; Brothers and sisters; Patriots, all.  At this junction, in this juncture; and in this defining moment in our history, I am pleased to announce that as your government and as a government and its people, we are about to set aside a process that will seek to do right by all loyal residents of these beautiful British Virgin Islands.

During recent weeks, there has been a surge in the number of reported cases of measles worldwide but most notably in the United States of America.

Nurses play a vital role in our healthcare system and contribute significantly to the quality of life we enjoy here in the Virgin Islands.  Each year we recognize their expertise and dedication to improving the health of the population by joining the celebration of International Nurses Week.
