I thank you for joining me this morning as I provide you with an update on matters related to the Government of the Virgin Islands and the rebuild of this Territory.

Today marks a milestone in the history of the Territory of the Virgin Islands as a summary of policy decisions taken by the Cabinet of the Virgin Islands will, for the first time, be made public on a weekly basis in keeping with the Government’s commitment to promote more openness and transparency.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen of the Media. It is a pleasure to see you again. 

I previously indicated I would make public the report that can be appropriately put in to the public domain on the independent investigation undertaken by the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force into the actions taken by Officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Immediate Response Team during the apprehension of Santo Yamarco Hernandez in December 2017.   

Fellow residents of the Virgin Islands, the highest responsibility of any government is to ensure the safety and well-being of the people. For this reason, countries all over the world are working endlessly everyday towards gaining a better understanding of the needs and concerns of citisens, in order to improve their standard of living and overall quality of life.
