I wish to officially announce that the British Virgin Islands today has confirmed its first (two) imported cases of Coronavirus Disease COVID-19.

Good afternoon. The spread of COVID-19 across the globe highlights that it is highly infectious and therefore it will remain a threat to the British Virgin Islands for the foreseeable future.  This public health risk must be mitigated.  Such a historic threat can only be managed by an unusually high level of cooperation, collaboration and solidarity.

Your Government continues to do all we can to ensure the safety and protection of the people of the Virgin Islands. This was our commitment from the time we presented ourselves as servants of the people.

BVI Nationals and Belongers in the United Kingdom (UK) are asked to monitor and adhere to the UK Government's guidance on the COVID -19 outbreak which is available at www.gov.uk.

Greetings fellow Virgin Islanders and residents, I address you today to update you on the preparations and actions of the Ministry of Transportation Works and Utilities with respect to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

By now we are all aware that the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared there is a global pandemic—the COVID-19. This form of the Coronavirus is affecting lives, communities, and the world economy.

Yesterday, you heard that in Cabinet we took further measures to secure our borders, safeguard our children and elderly, and some of the other ways the Virgin Islands Government is aggressively working to prevent the Coronavirus COVID-19 from reaching the Territory.
