Every Saturday morning the Public Library Service of the Virgin Islands provides a Saturday Morning Story Time Programme for children between the ages of 5-12 years at the Road Town Public Library.
The objective of the programme is to promote literacy and to encourage reading. During this time children can hear poems, folk tales, classical stories and local stories such as Boysie and the Genips.
A resource person is provided for the programme which starts at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 12 noon. Parents are encouraged to bring their children.
Process
Step 1: Customer comes to the Road Town library on a Saturday, and have their names recorded in the register for the programme at the Circulation desk
Step 2: Customer goes to the Junior Unit where the programme takes place
Step 3: Customer participates in the programme.
