Acquisition of Crown Lands in Anegada by purchase

Process

Step 1: Customer submits a written request by letter, expressing interest in the purchase of a parcel of Crown Land to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Labour along with the Application form.

Step 2:  The Ministry will send a response  to the customer acknowledging receipt of application

Step 3:  A further response will be sent to the customer granting  Approval or  Denial of the request.

Step 4: If the request is granted, a follow-up letter will be sent from the Ministry, informing the customer of the required documentation and other particulars that must be submitted for processing.

Step 5: Customer pays the fees due, and payment is immediately reflected on the account. 

Step 6: The Instrument of Transfer is prepared and processed.  The Customer is informed when the document is ready for collection

Supporting Documents

  • A recent passport size photograph of the applicant;
  • A notarized copy of the applicant’s Passport or Birth Certificate and a Declaration of Identity (as Proof that you are an Anegadian);
  • A notarized copy of Belonger Card;
  • Documents supporting claim to land in Anegada; and
  • Parents or grandparents (who is an Anegadian) Birth Certificate or death certificate  is required.
  • Parents who were born  on Anegada (Birth and or Death Certificates)
  •  
  •  If parents were not born on Anegada, then the documents for the grandparents may suffice.

Conditions of approval will be  included  

(1) This service is available to residents of an individual(s) with  descendants from Anegada;

(2)  Any additional information which may enhance your claim may be added overleaf;

(3)   For the purpose of this application  an “Anegadian” is defined as anyperson who was born on the island of Anegada or any person whose  mother, father or grandparents were born on the island of Anegada.
