Customers can utilize the library’s Internet to access the World Wide Web to obtain information from around the world. The Public Library Service of the Virgin Islands provides access to the Internet as an additional source of information, to satisfy the educational, recreational, informational and cultural needs of the public.

Process

Step 1: Customer would have to visit the Public Library and enquire about using the Internet.

Step 2: Customer must sign the time schedule book at the Circulation Desk. (Customer is served on a walk-in, first come basis.)

Step 3: Customer must present any external storage device to library staff at the Circulation to be scanned for viruses.

Step 4: Customer would then physically access the computers that are designated for the database in the Public Library. If the designated is in use then the customer must wait until one becomes available. We ask that all patrons be reasonable in their requests for Internet access. Customers who have been at a computer terminal for more than one (1) hour may be asked to give up their spot if all other terminals are being used and other patrons are waiting. That customer will be allowed to sign for another time.

Step 5: Customer would then browse the Internet for information. The customer would have the option to print if needed.

Step 6: Customer would go to the Circulation Desk to pay after using the Internet or printing.
