Test fishing operation

Process

Step 1:  Customer submits the application form 21 to the Conservation and Fisheries Department and pays the application fee.  A Government receipt is issued.

Step 2:  A response is sent  from the Department to the customer acknowledging receipt of the application.        

Step 3:  Application is reviewed, a recommendation is made and the Licence is processed if application is approved.

Step 4:  Customer is informed of the availability of the licence and is invited to come in to the MinistryDepartment where the Customer pays the Licence fees due.

Step 5:  A Government receipt is issued to the customer, payment is immediately reflected on account, and the customer collects the Licence.

  • According to Section 73(1) (a) of the Fisheries Act No. 4 of 1997 provisions are made for the Minister after consultation with the Chief Conservation and Fisheries Officer to: (a) upon an application made to him in the prescribed form, issue an applicant, without payment of a fee, a licence to conduct Test Fishing operations in the fishery waters.
