Process

Step 1: Read the Note to Applicants which includes important details and instructions.

Step 2: Complete the Application for Short-term Commercial Use of Beaches (Event-Based) (available as a fillable PDF or hard copy form from the Ministry) and submit to the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change via email (menrcc@gov.vg) or by hand.

Step 3: Applicant gets confirmation of receipt of their application and a response to their application. Applications are typically processed within fifteen (15) business days of receipt.

Step 4: Successful applicants receive a Conditional Letter of Approval.

Step 5: Successful applicants use the Conditional Letter of Approval to apply for a temporary Trade Licence to operate at the specified beach/beaches and obtain any other required permissions/permits/licences, such as a liquor licence.

Note: Event organizers are responsible for managing all supporting vendors/business operators associated with the event. Organizers must indicate the type and number of vendors expected and the accommodation/facilities that would be used by each. Event organizers are responsible for ensuring that vendors operating within the event have all necessary permissions and licences to operate, including a temporary Trade Licence, and adhere to the conditions of beach use for the event. Vendor details, including name, type and contact information, should be provided in a separate attachment to facilitate a Beach Use Permit for each vendor which is required for acquiring a temporary Trade Licence. If not available on application, vendor details can be submitted subsequently.

Step 6: Applicant submits the Trade Licence(s) and all other required permissions/permits/licences to the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change and receives final approval by issuance of a Beach Use Permit. The Permit will indicate all conditions attached to the approved beach use.

Step 7: Applicant can commence use of the beach in accordance with the conditions of their Permit.
