The Virgin Islands Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) announces the successful completion of its sixth mission in collaboration with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).

The BVI Asia Trade Mission, led by Deputy Premier and Minister for Financial Services, Honourable Lorna Smith, has concluded its roadshows in Beijing and Shanghai, with more than 300 industry representatives and professionals present for two days of informative speeches, panel discussions, and networking on the BVI’s financial services product offerings. The delegation also held a series of productive engagements with Chinese Government representatives.

The Department of Waste Management is set to relaunch its house to house garbage collection programme for a period of four months from 3^rd June until 30^th September. Director, Mr. Marcus Solomon said the pilot programme will service persons in portions of Tortola, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke. Mr. Solomon said, “The information that we will be collecting through this pilot programme will help to inform garbage collection strategies for the next three to four years.” He added, “We want to see if we can reduce the need for public bins, which can be seen as unsightly and a public health concern.”
