Educators across the Virgin Islands were encouraged to keep inspiring each other as they move forward into the new academic school year at their annual Teachers Professional Day on August 23.
Deputy Governor, Mr. David Archer, Jr. will act in the Office of Governor from August 28 to September 7 in the absence of His Excellency the Governor, Mr. John J. Rankin, CMG who will be out of the Territory.
The National Parks Trust of the Virgin Islands (NPTVI) is collaborating with the Gibraltar Botanic Gardens to learn more about the biology and conservation status of Pilosocereus, a genus of cacti found within the Virgin Islands.

Ms. Rhonexie N. Anderson has been appointed Health and Safety Coordinator with the Department of Human Resources for the Public Service effective 30th August, 2021.
Property owners in the Virgin Islands are reminded that property tax for the year 2021 is due and payable September 1 to November 30 in accordance with the Property Tax Ordinance, Cap 207 (as amended).

An additional 2,000 AstraZeneca vaccines arrived in the Territory on August 31 as part of the United Kingdom Government’s commitment to the VI’s vaccination programme.
The Virgin Islands today welcomed 19-year-old pilot Zara Rutherford to the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport as she continues her mission to become the youngest woman to fly solo around the world.
