Minister for Health and Social Development Honourable Carvin Malone has expressed support on behalf of the British Virgin Islands for the advancement of a Regional Agenda for Inclusive Social Development which he said is a clear roadmap for the region to follow as it takes steps toward realising the Sustainable Development Goals.

Representatives from the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) and the BVI Red Cross (BVIRC) have shared plans for reducing the Territory’s disaster risk in 2021.

The National Parks Trust of the Virgin Islands (NPTVI) was successful in securing a grant for $19,000 from the Mohammed Bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund (MBZ Fund) to assist with endangered plant conservation in the Virgin Islands.

The British Virgin Islands will receive over USD$362,000 in funding from the United Nations (UN) COVID-19 Response and Recovery Multi-Partner Trust Fund (COVID-19 MPTF Fund) as a participating country in the Joint Programme on “Social Protection and employability promotion to mitigate the socio-economic impact of COVID-19.
