Registration is valid for one year and a certificate of registration will be issued for that period. An application for renewal of the certificate of registration should be made no later than one month after the certificate expires.

In addition to the registration form please submit:

  • A copy of the constitutional documents
  • A statement of the purpose, objectives and activities of the organisation

The fee is $100 for a newly formed organisation. For existing organisations where the gross annual income does not exceed two hundred and fifty thousand dollars the fee is $50. For existing organisations where the gross annual income exceeds two hundred and fifty thousand dollars the fee is $100.

An application for registration should be submitted to the Board through the Registrar of the NPO at the Ministry of Health and Social Development: First Floor, West Atrium Central Administration Complex, 33 Admin Drive, Road Town, Tortola, VG1110, Virgin Islands (British).

A non-profit organisation or organisation is a body of persons whether incorporated or unincorporated, established solely or primarily for the promotion of charitable, religious, cultural, educational, social or fraternal purposes, or other activities or programmes for the benefit of the public, or a section of the public and which raise or disburses funds in pursuance of its objectives primarily within the Territory.

When submitting the Application for Burial Form to the Ministry to import human remains from overseas, you should also submit an authentic death certificate showing cause of death and a burial permit from the Civil Registry. A letter of approval and an Importation Certificate or a letter of disapproval will be sent to you within two working days.

At the Ministry of Health and Social Development complete an Application for Burial Form. Staff at the Ministry will give assistance with completing the form if needed. Please ensure that you have available the following documents/information:
