The Department of Labour and Workforce Development is reminding the public to take note of the following schedule:

Renewal of work permits will be processed by specific appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and only employees with scheduled appointments will be allowed to collect their work permits on the stated days. Appointments can be made by contacting the department on Tortola at 468-4707/4708 or the Virgin Gorda Office at 468-6525. Persons are reminded that payments are to be made when collecting their work permits.

New work permit applicants presently in the Territory are asked to visit the department on Thursdays at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. to finalise their work permit processes. Persons will be processed on a first come first serve basis with a limit of ten (10) persons per timeframe until further notice. They will also be presented with a brochure outlining the department’s services instead of the usual on-site new employee orientation session until further notice.

Applicants who have applied for Change of Position or Change of Employer can collect their work permit on Fridays. Persons will be processed on a first come first serve basis as only six (6) persons at a time are allowed in the lobby. Applicants are to ensure that their passports have a valid immigration stamp and also be prepared to make payments for their work permits prior to collection.
