Honourable Rymer reflected on this anniversary, stating, “While we reflect on the challenges we have faced, we also celebrate the progress we have made. Our commitment to rebuilding stronger and more resilient communities remains unwavering. We urge all residents to stay vigilant and prepared as we move forward together."

The hurricanes caused extensive damage to homes, businesses, and essential infrastructure. Honourable Rymer emphasised the ongoing efforts in recovery, which include:

  • Completing Recovery Projects: repairing roads, coast and ports.
  • Enhancing Preparedness: Improving emergency measures to protect communities from future disasters.
  • Supporting Vulnerable Populations: Prioritising assistance for older adults and individuals with disabilities to ensure their safety and well-being.
