Update- Controlled Re-Entry for International Ferry Passengers through Road Town Jetty
Tortola, British Virgin Islands, May 16, 2021 - The British Virgin Islands Ports Authority (BVIPA) advises the public that the current international ferry passenger schedule and passenger limit remains.
There continues to be only one daily round trip ferry service for this initial period with a maximum of 50 passengers per trip. Ferry passengers arriving and departing the British Virgin Islands must reserve a ticket with the scheduled ferry operator through their booking portal. The international ferry passenger schedule is as follows:
- • All ferries will depart Road Town, Tortola for Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas at 8:00 a.m.
- • All ferries will depart Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas for Road Town, Tortola at 4:00 p.m.
- • Sundays alternate between operators and the BVIPA will issue updates, as necessary.
Travelers are reminded to obtain their entry approval via bvigateway.bviaa.com.

The Authority also looks forward to continued engagement with stakeholders, as it works toward further streamlining the entry system, for greater efficiency and effectiveness, to help keep the BVI moving.

The BVI Ports Authority is the managing authority for all official Sea Ports within the British Virgin Islands inclusive of the 60ft wide, 1,312 ft. long cruise pier that can berth ships up to a maximum tonnage of 180,000 GRT. The BVIPA is responsible for the welcoming and safe arrival of seafaring passengers, as well as the reception, handling and security of cargo and sea based trade.
