His Excellency the Governor Augustus J.U. Jaspert, Minister for Natural Resources, Labour and Immigration Honourable Vincent Wheatley, Permanent Secretary and Deputy Secretary in the ministry, Mr. Ronald Smith Berkeley and Mr. Joseph Smith-Abbott and  representatives from the Recovery and Development Agency were briefed by officials from the United Kingdom’s National Oceanography Centre (NOC) on the uses of the machinery and their expectations for the research expedition that they were about to embark on. The officials are in the Territory to deliver vital training in marine survey mapping to officers in various departments of Government and Non-Governmental Organisations.
