The Tortola Pier Park Limited’s (TPPL) land side development which prides itself as an unmatched dinning, shopping and entertainment facility is one year old today. 

This milestone was celebrated on Tuesday, February 14 with locals, business owners at the park and three ships carrying over six thousand passengers.

Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Mark Vanterpool commended the team at TPPL and the BVI Ports Authority and encouraged persons to continue to support the development.

Honourable Vanterpool stated that the development is a successful investment.

He said, “We are very excited about it. The investment was worth it. We want to make sure the guests enjoy, our people benefit from it and tourism on a whole will grow in the BVI. Not only from cruise ship side but overnight visitors can come and enjoy.”

The Minister added that Wickham’s Cay will see more development this year as the Ministry of Communications and Works plans to extend the boardwalk from the pier park to the Queen Elizabeth II Park.

Tortola Pier Park is the newest development in the British Virgin Islands, which has an enhanced cruise pier and a five-acre landside shopping facility. The new cruise facility includes a 60ft wide, 1,312ft long pier while the landside shopping center consist of over 60 stores, including retail, service providers, commercial spaces and office spaces.
