Storytelling, singing and stick dancing were part of the Territory Day 2016 Celebrations this past Friday July 1. Three Virgin Islands stories were told through dramatic presentation by local culture bearers and historians, the audience joined presenters in the singing of a gospel hymn with the sentiment of an old Negro spiritual, while the Heritage Dancers performed a stick dancing number for the audience. The event wrapped up with all in attendance being asked to recite the Virgin Islands pledge publicly for the very first time.  (Photo credit: Franklyn Skerritt/GIS)
