The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders for the managing of the Jost Van Dyke Transfer Station and providing hauling services for waste from JVD to the incinerator on Tortola.
Procurement Coordinator, Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said the proposed works include loading trash compactor and open-top roll on/off bins with residential, yard and other types of waste. Transport of compactor bins from Jost Van Dyke to Tortola (round trip) via the provided barging service with a maximum of 4 bins per week – (once per week) and operate the facility 8 hours per day, four days per week.
Eligible tenderers are required to submit Certificates of Good Standing from the Director of the Social Security Board, National Health Insurance, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue, the Commercial Registry and other entity as outlined in the Tender Document.
Tenderers must also provide proof of a valid Trade Licence for the specific type of work detailed in the tender document and proof of possession of the equipment required for the job, by submission of copy(s) of vehicles Registration or Insurance Certificate. The required equipment must be in the British Virgin Islands at the time of the tender.
Tenderers must also provide a Tender Bond/Tender Security, not less than 1% of their bid price by way of a bank or accredited insurance company with their tender.
Mrs. Rhymer added, “Bidding documents will be available from Monday, March 15 and would be sent to bidders electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title “Managing of the Jost Van Dyke Transfer Station and providing hauling services for waste from JVD to the incinerator on Tortola”
Interested tenderers should submit one (1) original and three (3) copies, plus one (1) flash drive containing the bidders documents. The bids should be placed in a sealed envelope marked, “ORIGINAL” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope marked “COPIES”. Both envelopes should then be placed in an outer envelope marked, “Tender for managing of the Jost Van Dyke Transfer Station and providing hauling services for waste from JVD to the incinerator on Tortola” and must be received no later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20 addressed to:

A Pre-tender meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jost Van Dyke Methodist Church. This will be followed by a site visit and all prospective tenderers are invited to attend.
Tenders will be opened at the Procurement Unit, Ministry of Finance, Qwomar Trading Building #2, 2nd Floor at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20. All Tenderers are invited to witness this process via “Webex” and will be provided with the access code and password prior to the opening.
