The Department of Waste Management is accepting quotations for the fencing and construction of an oil containment structure at the Old Derelict Vehicle Storage site, Sea Cows Bay, Tortola. The fencing consists of 220 feet of chain link wire and galvanised metal post. It will be six feet in height. A gate of 16 feet wide would be left and a double gate is to be supplied and installed. The oil containment system would be made of a concrete slab four inches thick with a lip on all four sides that’s 6 inch wide by 8 inches high. Dimensions of the entire structure would be 30 feet by 40 feet.

Interested companies are asked to submit their bids in a sealed envelope with the name of the company and reference “Works at Sea Cows Bay site” with the following documents enclosed:

  • Quotation for work.
  • Certificate of good standing from Inland Revenue Department, Social Security Board and National Health Insurance.
  • Valid Trade Licence for 2023.
  • Proof of ownership of equipment or access to it [pictures, insurance, registration etc.]
  • A brief outline of the company’s experience.

All bids will be evaluated based on price, equipment, experience and reliability. Please note that all documents must be included for consideration. The deadline for submission of quotation is November 24, 2023 at 12.00 noon.

All quotations must be hand delivered to the Department of Waste Management Office: Second Floor, O’Neil Building [located in the Property Union Building adjacent to Happy Lion Restaurant] Botanic Station, Tortola, Virgin Islands.
