The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting tenders for the Construction of the New Social Home to be located at The Settlement, Anegada, British Virgin Islands.

The proposed works are comprised of demolition of existing structures, furnishing all plant, labor, equipment and materials and performing all operations in connection with the construction of the New Social Home in The Settlement, Anegada in accordance with the drawings and specifications. 

Mrs. Rhymer said, “Eligible tenderers must submit Certificates of Good Standing in respect to their Social Security and Taxes including Payroll and Property Tax from BVI Social Security Board, National Health Insurance, Inland Revenue, the Commercial Registry, valid trade licence, detailed work programme showing the order in which the various sections of works are to be executed along with other documents as outlined in the tender document.” 

She  added, “Tenderers must provide with the tender, a Tender Bond/Tender Security not less than 1% of the bid price, by way of a bank or accredited insurance company.”

Bidding documents are available from Monday, February 8 and will be sent to bidders electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title “Construction of the New Social Home, The Settlement, Anegada”.

Interested Tenderers should submit one (1) original and three (3) copies, and one (1) flash drive containing the bidder’s documents. The original bid should be placed in a sealed envelope marked, “ORIGINAL” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope marked “COPIES”.  Both envelopes should then be placed in an outer envelope and marked, “Tender for the “Construction of the New Social Home, The Settlement, Anegada” and must be received no later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 and addressed to:

A virtual pre-tender meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 2 at 10:00 a.m. and a site visit is scheduled for Wednesday, March 3 at 10:00 a.m.  All prospective tenderers are invited to attend.

Tenders will be opened at the Procurement Unit, Ministry of Finance, Qwomar Trading Building #2, 2nd Floor at 11:00 a.m. on, Tuesday, March 30.  All Tenderers are invited to witness this process via “Webex” and will be provided with the access code and password prior to the opening.
