The Government of the Virgin Islands invites tenders for the supply and placement of rock revetment, construction of gravity walls; construction of sidewalks, curbs and slipper drains at Carrot Bay, Tortola.

The proposed works comprise of providing all plant, labour, equipment and materials and performing all operations in connection with the excavation of existing revetment and disposal of material; Road revetment including supply and placement of rocks; Construction of over 450 linear feet of concrete reinforced gravity walls; Construction of over 900 linear feet of concrete reinforced sidewalks, slipper drains and curb walls, and the facilitating and responsibility of protection of the works, traffic management, heavy equipment operating and provision of suitable fill material at Carrot Bay.

Procurement Coordinator, Mrs. Ishma Rhymer said eligible tenderers are required to submit a Trade Licence (valid for 2024) and a detailed work programme and method statement showing the order in which the various sections of works are to be executed and the rates of progress.

Mrs. Rhymer added that amongst other documentation, tenderers must also submit a list of projects undertaken by the Tenderer within the past ten years that demonstrate the Tenderer’s experience in delivering similar projects, a list of Current Contract Commitments/Work in Progress and submit Certificates of Good Standing in respect of the Social Security and taxes, including Payroll and Income Tax, from VI Social Security Board, National Health Insurance and Inland Revenue.

Tender documents will be available from Monday, 18th March, 2024 between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Documents will be sent to tenderers electronically upon request to procurement@gov.vg with the subject title Coastal Defence and Civil Works at Carrot Bay.

A virtual pre-tender meeting via Webex is scheduled for Wednesday 27th March, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. The access code and password will be provided prior to the meeting. This will be followed by a site visit. All prospective tenderers are invited to attend.

Interested tenderers should submit one (1) original, three (3) copies and one (1) flash drive containing the tenderer’s documents.  The original tender should be placed in a sealed envelope and marked “ORIGINAL” and the additional copies placed in another sealed envelope and marked “COPIES”.  Both envelopes should then be placed in an outer envelope and marked Coastal Defence and Civil Works at Carrot Bay and addressed to:

All tenders must be deposited in the Tender Box at the Ministry of Finance (Procurement Unit)RFG Place, Second Floor, Road Town, Tortola, by the bearer not later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 23 April, 2024.  Tenders will not be received after the Tender Box is closed.

Tenders will be opened on Tuesday, 23 April, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ministry of Finance Conference Room, RFG Building, 3rd Floor, Waterfront Drive, Road Town, Tortola. Tenderers are invited to witness the opening via Webex. Tenderers will be provided with the access code and password prior to the opening of Tenders.
