Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Dr. Natalio Wheatley and Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports Honourable Sharie de Castro are featured with the BVI CARIFTA 52 Athletes at the Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport as they returned from Trinidad and Tobago. A welcome home celebration was held for Team BVI on its accomplishments with Tiandre “Dre” Frett who won two (2) silver medals in the 100 and 200 meter sprints, and Ms. Jah’Kyla Morton who won bronze in the under 20 women’s high jump. Stakeholders and supporters also received commendations including the BVI Chess Federation that was in Trinidad at the same time as the CARIFTA Team, and the Advent Heart Beatz who won the drum core title at North Caribbean Conference Camporee 2025 in St. Maarten.
