HER MAJESTY’S PRISON

As security of the Territory is my overall responsibility, I will continue to work with all agencies to ensure a safe Territory. I am deeply concerned about the events at Her Majesty’s Prison on Sunday evening that sadly resulted in a loss of life. My sincere condolences go to the family and friends of the deceased. The safety and security of the prison inmates, all staff and officers are an absolute priority. I have called a meeting of the National Security Council for this afternoon to review the incident and agree on the next steps.
