PRESS STATEMENT
FROM GOVERNOR OF THE BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
MR JOHN RANKIN CMG
Youth Empowerment Projects Fund
The Governor’s Office has a fund totalling $30,000 to fund youth empowerment projects in the BVI. The Governor’s Office welcomes applications from organisations, or partnerships across organisations, for projects up to the value of $10,000.
This grant programme is for registered or established BVI Non-Profit Organisations to apply for funding to deliver youth empowerment activities and / or projects to support the economic development of the Territory. Projects should help more local youths have positive experiences and develop new skills that encourage them to explore job opportunities for example in tourism, environment, agriculture, sports and other sectors relevant to the BVIs sustainable development, economic growth and overall wellbeing.
The target age for these activities is 13 to 21 year olds.
The projects will therefore contribute to the delivery of the BVI Sustainable Development Plan goal: Islanders are empowered for a Sustainable Future in an Inclusive Vibrant Society, Living Fulfilling Lives.
Project partners can be included in more than one application, but there should only be one application per project lead.
Timeline:
- Applications must be received by 23 October 2023
