Small business owners across the Territory have until Wednesday, September 16 at noon to submit applications for the COVID-19 Economic Stimulus for Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises Grant Relief Programme.

Junior Minister for Trade and Economic Development, Honourable Shereen Flax-Charles said at the launch of Payment of COVID-19 Small Business Stimulus Grant and UNDP Grant that 1,039 businesses were approved for the grants from the $6.5 million fund and that the Government has decided to extend the deadline date to September 16 to allow more businesses the opportunity to apply.

“We have made a provisional extension to the application process of the COVID-19 Small Business Stimulus Grant Programme recognising that a small number of our business persons faced significant difficulty with meeting the deadline for whatever reason.”

Honourable Flax- Charles added, “We want everyone who can qualify to get an opportunity to make an application.  This deadline is hard and fast, if it is not in by 12 noon on Wednesday, 16 September, it will not be able to move forward in the process.”

Business owners can apply by contacting the Department of Trade, Investment Promotion and Consumer Affairs via phone (284) 468- 4280.

To date, over 1000 small businesses have qualified for the economic stimulus grant and will receive their cheques this week.
