The Safe Haven Transitional Centre has served over 30 bowls of warm soup to vulnerable members of the Virgin Islands community during its Thanksgiving Soup Kitchen Outreach Initiative.

The outreach programme carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Development is an annual event for the centre with its major beneficiaries being clients of the Community Mental Health and the Family Support Network.

Director Mrs. Nellville George Bronstorph said hosting the soup kitchen was a meaningful way to provide hot and nourishing meals to the vulnerable community members in the Territory and offer some comfort and care during this time.

Mrs. George Bronstorph said, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported the centre throughout the year, including our dedicated volunteers, donors, and community partners. Together, we can continue building a brighter future, one where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.”

The director added, “Under the direction of the Ministry of Health and Social Development, the centre’s commitment is to continue to take strides towards being a catalyst for social change as individuals transform their lives.”

The Ministry of Health and Social Development remains committed to improving the health and social well-being of the people of the Virgin Islands.
