The community outreach event organised for vulnerable individuals and persons living with mental health issues by the staff of Safe Haven Transitional Centre has been called a success.

The event focused on the importance of giving back in the spirit of Thanksgiving under the theme ‘See Me, Not My Limitations- SHTC Care Project 2021’. It was hosted in partnership with Community Mental Health, BVI Red Cross and other businesses and stakeholders within the community.

Clients and attendees were treated to activities including soup distribution, clothing distribution, hair, nail and grooming distribution from the different stations setup by local businesses. Spiritual devotion was led by the centre’s Chaplain Dr. Robert Wright and musical entertainment was provided. All COVID-19 health protocols were observed.

The staff and clients of the Safe Haven Transitional Centre expressed their gratitude to the businesses and individuals for their kind contributions and donations that made the event possible.

Persons can support the efforts of the Safe Haven Transitional Centre by telephone at 468-5815.
