The Government of the Virgin Islands remains committed to safeguarding the well-being of the Territory’s secondary school students. It is therefore inviting individual tenders for the Supply of Security Services to the Elmore Stoutt High School, the Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies or the Bregado Flax Educational Centre.
The Government intends to provide each educational facility with a 24 hour security service, and the primary purpose of the service would be to safeguard the property of the school and the lives of students, employees and visitors.
Director of Communications, Mrs. Arliene T. Penn said, “Providing our secondary students and teachers with a safe environment that is conducive to learning and social development is paramount to Government. In this regard, we are inviting suitably qualified security firms to partner with us in providing such services.”
Interested tenderers must submit a valid trade license, along with certificates of good standing from the Director of the Social Security Board, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue and the Commercial Registry for each institution. The date of issue on the certificates must be current, and should be no earlier than one month prior to the date of submission.
In addition, tenderers must provide a Tender Security or Tender Bond, not less than ten percent of their bid price, through a bank or accredited insurance company.
Individual tender documents for the Supply of Security Services to Elmore Stoutt High School, the Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies or the Bregado Flax Educational Centre are available upon request from the Ministry of Finance, Procurement Unit, Rita Frett Georges (RFG) Place, Third Floor, Waterfront Drive, Tortola British Virgin Islands from Monday, November 16, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Upon collection of the specific tender document, a non-refundable $200 fee must be paid by cash or bank cashier’s cheque made payable to the Accountant General.
The deadline for the submission of all tenders is Tuesday, December 15, no later than 10:00 a.m. Tenders will not be received after the Tender Box is closed. Tenders will be publicly opened at the Ministry of Finance, Procurement Unit, located in the Rita Frett Georges Place, Third Floor beginning at noon on Tuesday, December 15. All tenderers are invited to attend.
