The Department of Agriculture wishes to advise residents and visitors to the British Virgin Islands that it is unlawful to import plants and/or plant materials into the Territory without a valid provisional import permit in accordance with the Plant Protection Act (Cap. 93).

The permit must be requested and obtained prior to the procurement of any consignment. It is illegal to request the provisional permit after you have already procured your consignment.

Effective immediately, late request of the provisional import permit will no longer be permitted. Failure to comply will result in the consignment being confiscated or it being denied entry into the British Virgin Islands.

For further information, contact the Department of Agriculture at 468-6123/6124.
