The Department of Agriculture is inviting the public to its World Food Day celebrations on Friday, October 16 at the Central Administration Complex Breeze Way at 11:30 a.m.

The celebration includes a short ceremony and tasting of local cuisines including local chicken, chicken soup and breadfruit salad. The department will also feature an educational session on how the Sargassum seaweed can be used as a bio-fertiliser.

World Food Day will be observed internationally under the theme, Social Protection and Agriculture: Breaking the Cycle of Rural Poverty.
