Bulletin
The Inland Revenue Department is in the process of making preliminary preparations of the 2018 Property Tax List, and is interested in determining the level of damages incurred to the buildings currently recorded. The Commissioner would like to encourage all property owners to declare structural damage to their buildings by completion of a Building Damage Claim form, which will then be used to make appropriate adjustments to the 2018 assessments as necessary.
In addition to completion of the Claim Form, all property owners are required to submit the following supporting documents:
- Photo ID (driver’s licence / passport photo page)
- Photos of damages to property
Property owners are advised that further assessments may be necessary and Property Tax Officers may perform site visits to verify claims.
All objections forms must be submitted on or before February 28, 2018 via email (bvitaxes@gov.vg) or to the Inland Revenue offices located on the 2nd floor of the Louise Malone Building (upstairs of BVI Cable TV) in Road Town, and the Vanterpool Administration Office in Virgin Gorda. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
