The public is reminded that Budget Day is Monday, January 16.

Premier and Minister of Finance Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE will deliver the Territory’s 2017 Budget during the Fourth Sitting of the Second Session of the Third House of Assembly at 10:00 a.m.

The public is invited to tune in to ZBVI 780 AM or view it on CBN Channel 51.

According to the Director of Communications, Mrs. Arliene T. Penn, the theme for this year’s Budget Address is, ‘Charting Our Course: Positioning the Virgin Islands for the Future’.

She said, “The Honourable Premier will speak about the state of the Territory with a focus on the Territory’s economic and fiscal performance; Government’s economic and social empowerment strategy and road map; and he will highlight his Government’s revenue and expenditure programme.”

Mrs. Penn said that immediately following the delivery of the Budget Address, the Government of the Virgin Islands will launch an e-newsletter, titled “Budget in Brief 2017”. This newsletter is a snap shot of the Territory’s 2017 Budget as presented by Honourable Premier on Budget Day.
