Local author, Phoenicia Warner will launch her first book ‘Overcome Your Thirst’ in a 7:00 a.m. ceremony this Saturday, July 16 at the Save the Seed Centre, Duff’s Bottom.

Ms. Warner said the book reveals a unique parallel between the life of the woman at the well in Scripture and life in this present time. She added that although the events of this familiar story happened back in biblical times, the book reveals some underlying truths that are still relevant in the lives of so many people today.

Director of Culture, Mrs. Luce Hodge-Smith said the Department of Culture endorses Ms. Warner’s book launch and congratulates her on this major achievement.

She added, “We are proud to add yet another book to the Virgin Islands literary tradition.”

The director also explained that the department is not acting as facilitator for the launch due to time constraints, but extended best wishes towards the author on a successful event.

All are invited to attend the event. For more information, persons should contact the Department of Culture at 468-4373.

The Ministry of Education and Culture is committed to creating a “Culture of Excellence”
