Residents of the Virgin Islands are encouraged to wear purple on Wednesday, October 31 as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month activities.

Purple is the international colour of domestic violence awareness, and the Office of Gender Affairs is aiming to create a national demonstration of unity against domestic violence and to show support to survivors in observance of the occasion.

This year’s theme is “Domestic Violence Awareness + Action = Life Change".
