Press Release
The Department of Human Resources has launched an online talent management system to streamline the application process for positions within the Public Service.
The new online talent management system has replaced the previous job board located on the Government website. Subsequently, paper applications will no longer be accepted by the Department of Human Resources and all applications must be submitted through the new system. When accessing the platform, job seekers will be prompted to fill out the employment application and submit all required documents. Additionally, applicants will now be able to track the status of their applications as well as receive automated updates and invitations to interviews.
To access the system, applicants should click on the “JOBS” tab on the Government’s website (bvi.gov.vg) and select one of the “Apply Here” options for Public Service or Statutory Body vacancies, respectively.
Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Sharleen Dabreo-Lettsome, MBE, said “The launch of this system is a significant milestone in our plans to transform the work of the Department of Human Resources, through our new Human Resources Management vision for the Public Service. We are working to bring job-seekers closer into this critical process.”
With the introduction of this new system, the Department of Human Resources aims to facilitate a more transparent, accountable and efficient hiring process for individuals desirous of entering the Public Service.
Public Service Transformation Manager, Mrs. Kishann Cupid-Braithwaite said, “Digital Transformation is one of the main priority areas of the Public Service Transformation Programme.. Not only does it allow us to be a greener and more sustainable Public Service, it also allows our services to be accessible to all persons within, and outside, of the Territory. As we continue to transform the entire Public Service, we are focused on creating systems that are efficient and work to the benefit of our clients whom we proudly serve.”
A key feature of the new talent management system is its ability to keep job-seekers informed throughout every step of their journey, ensuring they are connected with the application process. This comes as the Department of Human Resources works to modernize communication with job seekers, transform the onboarding process, and reduce the time it takes for successful applicants to begin working.
Persons in need of assistance when applying for positions online, are encouraged to contact the Customer Service Care Centre via telephone at 284-468-3701 or customerservice@gov.vg.
The Government of the Virgin Islands remains committed to the transformation of the Public Service through a modernised Human Resources Management programme.
