The public is invited to the First Sitting of the First Session of the Third House of Assembly, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex.

At the First Sitting, after an election process, a Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be elected in accordance with Sections 4 and 5 of the British Virgin Islands Standing Orders. An Oath of Allegiance will then be taken by the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and all elected members.

The 2015 general elections in the Virgin Islands were held on June 8, with the incumbent National Democratic Party (NDP) emerging victorious, winning 11 of 13 seats.

Transportation will be provided for persons from Anegada, Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda wishing to attend the ceremony. Tortola Fast Ferry "Bobby" will depart Anegada at 7:45 a.m and Virgin Gorda at 8:45 a.m. for Road Town. New Horizon Ferry will depart Jost Van Dyke for West End at 8:00 a.m. After the ceremony, Tortola Fast Ferry will depart Road Town at 3:00 p.m.
