Owners and operators of foreign commercial vessels are notified that in accordance with section 4 (3) of the Commercial Recreational Vessels Licensing Act, 1992 (No. 8 of 1992): “A licence granted under section 3 may contain such conditions as the Minister may think it fit to impose with respect to the vessel and the cruise which it may undertake, and such conditions may be imposed so as to apply to the vessel wherever it may be or while in such waters or on such cruise as may be specified.”

The current conditions for each category of foreign commercial recreational vessel are as follows:

  • Water taxi: These vessels can enter the country for up to 2 hours and have unlimited annual inward clearances. They can only pick up and drop off passengers at the Virgin Gorda, Sopher’s Hole, Road Harbour and Jost Van Dyke Ports of Entry.
  • Day charter boats can enter the country for up to 8 hours and have unlimited annual inward clearances.
  • Term charter bareboat less than 60’: can enter the country for up to 4 days and have 7 annual inward clearances per vessel.
  • Term charter less than 78’: can enter the country for more than 48 hours but less than 8 days and have 7 annual inward clearances per vessel.
  • Term charter 78’ or above: can enter the country for more than 48 hours but less than 16 days and have 14 annual inward clearances per vessel.
