Disconnect at home in your own backyard, exploring our very own 60 islands and cays

Have you ever experienced a staycation in the British Virgin Islands? BVI residents, you don’t have to travel too far to enjoy a great vacation! Take advantage of the many special offers by tourism industry partners. Enjoy the splendors of the BVI’s 60 beautiful islands as part of the BVI Tourist Board’s Annual BVI Staycation programme.

Beginning May 1st until November 30th, residents of the BVI can choose from a selection of special offers on accommodations, tours, yacht charters and activities under the BVI Staycation Programme.

“The BVI Staycation programme is the perfect opportunity for local residents to revel in an exciting and relaxing getaway close to home. There’s something for the entire family, couples, groups of friends and the solo adventurer to enjoy. There is no need to travel far to disconnect when you can treat yourself to a BVI Staycation,” said RaeNisia Scatliffe, Local & Regional Marketing Manager. “Some of the Staycation packages are also extended to residents of the USVI, Puerto Rico and St. Maarten,” she added.

Special offers are available throughout the BVI. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of great deals that inspire island hopping and the unique experience of actually having breakfast on Jost Van Dyke, lunch in Virgin Gorda and  dinner and an overnight on Anegada, all in the same day.

“BVI Staycation is an annual programme that invites persons residing in the Territory to vacation in the BVI. There are a surprising number of persons who have never been to another island other than the one on which they reside.  Therefore, we are encouraging all residents to explore the many unique experiences available throughout our amazing group of islands,” said Director of Tourism, Sharon Flax Brutus.   She added that the programme also ties in with the tourism awareness aspect of the Tourist Board’s OneBVI campaign, as residents will better understand the importance of tourism in the BVI when they experience life as a guest in their place of residence.

Persons wishing to participate in the offers of the BVI Staycation programme are only required to present proof of residence such as their driver’s license or NHI card to the participating industry partners.
