Earlier this year, the Department of Culture hosted its first competition which provided an opportunity to creatively challenge the minds of the Territory’s people in expressing their poetic and photography skills, while fostering a sense of love and appreciation for its culture.

Featured is the winner of the adult poetry competition Toyer Fahie, with a poem entitled “Culture’s Flashback”, Linette Rabsatt who was second with “What I Love about BVI Culture”, and Alicia John who placed third with an entry entitled “BVI Culture”.

Tishauni Hall won the poetry competition in the children’s category with “The Way of Our People”.

Michael Winter Jr. won the photography competition with the photograph entitled “Living Where You Vacation.”
