June 1 marks the beginning of the 2018 hurricane season. Residents are urged to prepare for the up-coming season by following these tips:

• Dispose of waste properly
• Stop dumping bulky waste alongside residential bins
• Transport bulky and commercial waste to the incinerator
• Do not dispose of waste oil with normal household waste. Take oil to facility at Pockwood Pond
• Stop littering. Garbage must not be thrown from moving vehicles
• Report sightings of derelict vehicles to the Department of Waste Management at  468-4934

The improper disposal of trash is a hazard. Let us do our part to keep our islands clean and green.
