The public is invited to the Iron Man / Breathing Apparatus Competition that will be held tonight Friday, October 7, at the Road Town Fire Headquarters starting at 7:00 p.m.

In the competition, fire officers will go head-to-head through a training course, testing their speed, strength and ultimately their endurance to withstand the fire. Participants include, Chief Fire Officer Mr. Zebalon McLean, Fire Officers Mr. Travon Gumbs, Mr. Romney Thomas and others.

The event is being hosted by the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Service as they celebrate 20 years of Fire Safety Awareness Week, under the theme “Celebrating Fire Safety Awareness Week 2016 While Educating the Public on Potential Fire Hazards Not Seen.”
