 Tortola,  November   16th,  2023 - The  British   Virgin  Islands   Port  Authority  (BVIPA),   Tortola Pier   Park   Ltd  (TPPL),   and   the  Taxi   and   Livery  Commission    (TLC)  extend   a  warm invitation   to all taxi  transportation   providers  operating  at the  Cruise  Pier to attend   a crucial   meeting  on Friday, November   17th, at 10 am at Forge,  R & R Malone  Complex.

This    collaborative   gathering    aims   to   address   significant     matters    related    to  the implementation   of a new system for taxi operators. Key points  of discussion   include the introduction   of  a  new  buffer zone  for  operators,   ensuring  streamlined   operations  and improved      passenger      experiences.      Additionally,      the    meeting     will     cover    the implementation   of  a  unified   general    line  system,  which  will   encompass   both   regular and   smaller    or   express   taxis   and   the    implementation     of   a    Memorandum   of Understanding   (MOU).

Location:   Forge  Conference  Room at the  R & R Malone  Complex

Representatives   from  the  BVI   Ports  Authority,   Tortola   Pier Park Ltd,  and  the  Taxi  and Livery  Commission    will   be  present  to provide   insights,    answer  questions,   and foster open  communication.   This  meeting  marks a pivotal  moment  in enhancing   the efficiency and cooperation  within  the taxi  transportation   sector for our cruise guests.

About BVI Ports Authority

The BVI Ports Authority is the managing authority for all official Sea Ports within the British Virgin Islands inclusive of the 60ft wide, 1,312 ft. long cruise pier that can berth ships up to a maximum tonnage of 180,000 GRT. The BVIPA is responsible for the welcoming and safe arrival of seafaring passengers, as well as the reception, handling and security of cargo and sea based trade.
