The Department of Culture is compiling information from persons involved in the cultural industry in the Territory for the creation of a Virgin Islands Cultural Directory.          

The cultural directory will comprise of all persons and groups in the Territory who are involved in Virgin Islands history, music, dance, cuisine, and entertainment among others. 

Director of Culture Mrs. Luce Hodge-Smith said, “The directory will be used to help culture bearers and workers conduct business with members of the public who wish to utilise their services or products. It also provides a database showing what is presently available and indicating what other cultural areas can be tapped into.”            

Mrs. Hodge-Smith is encouraging persons to register with the department by Wednesday, November 30to ensure inclusion in the directory which is slated to be released next year.

Culture bearers and workers can register their information by downloading and filling out consent forms online at www.bvi.gov.vg. Forms can also be found at the Help Desk and security guard stations at the Central Administration Complex on Tortola or the Government Administration Buildings on Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke.
