The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) is once again opening the doors to opportunity with the return of its 3rd Annual Career Fair, slated for 8–10 April, 2025. This hallmark event, aimed at empowering students, recent graduates, job seekers, and professionals looking to advance, is set to offer an immersive career-building experience unlike any other in the Territory.

This year’s Career Fair is more than just a meet-and-greet with employers—it’s a fully integrated, multi-day initiative that brings the real world of work directly to participants.

On 9 April, HLSCC hosted its Mock Interview Day, where participants sat with real employers for simulated interviews designed to sharpen their presentation and communication skills. Constructive feedback from seasoned professionals will give job seekers the insights they need to make a powerful impression in future job interviews.

The Career Fair culminates on 10 April with the main event—a full day of face-to-face engagement with top employers across diverse industries. Participants will have the chance to explore available job openings, ask questions, learn about career paths, and even secure on-the-spot interviews. It promises to be an exciting, high-energy experience focused on creating tangible pathways to employment.

“The Career Fair is not just an event—it’s a launchpad,” said Dr. Albert Thompkins, Director of Student Affairs at HLSCC. “We are building a culture where career development is proactive, hands-on, and starts early. Students who participate leave with stronger resumes, deeper networks, and a better sense of where they’re headed professionally.”

With companies from finance, tourism, technology, government, health care, and creative industries expected to participate, the Career Fair is open to a broad audience. Students, recent graduates, and job seekers alike will find opportunities for growth and meaningful connection. It is also a golden opportunity for professionals seeking to pivot or elevate their careers.

Mrs. Denise Sargeant-James, HLSCC’s Transfer Counsellor, highlighted the significance of the Fair in bridging education and employment. “Career exploration is an essential part of student success. This Fair is a space where confidence is built, passions are discovered, and real connections are made. Whether you’re job hunting, exploring industries, or simply learning what’s out there, this event will meet you where you are,” she shared.

As the event enters its third year, it continues to expand in impact and relevance, cementing its role as a vital fixture in HLSCC’s commitment to workforce readiness and community empowerment.

HLSCC invites everyone to attend and take that next step toward their dream career.
