On 22nd December, 2021, Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Andrew A. Fahie successfully piloted the Integrity in Public Life Bill through the House of Assembly.
According to the Premier, the Bill covers numerous areas:
1) Further strengthen good governance among the conduct of Public Officers, Statutory Boards and Elected Officials in the carrying out of their duties.
2) Further strengthen systems in the adherence to public policy.
3)The passage of the Bill paves the way to establish an Integrity Commission which would assist in achieving Government's objectives to promote good governance, to enhance ethical conduct of public officers, and to strengthen the prevention and detection of corrupt acts by persons in public life.
"My Government intends to continue to work directly with the people to build these Virgin Islands one legislation at a time."
